Caring For Our Emotions
How Do We Care For Our Emotions?
This is a common topic at our monthly FREE workshops. We want to take this moment to thank everybody who attended our recent training and those who have attended in the past. Their honesty, effort, and compassion make every even memorable and life-changing.
Who taught you how to address anxiety, sadness, and overwhelm? For many, it isn’t taught at school, by family, or learned from friends. Emotions are something we have learned to tolerate, eat over, numb out to, or simply pretend it isn’t happening and push on. Here is where the troubles begin. Then one day, overwhelmed and panicked, we are stopped in or tracks and feel that the life we once had is over.
Our Workshops are Heart-Warming
What is heart-warming at our FREE events is how similar people’s experiences are. Many feel that they are all alone with their suffering, are forced to take medication to cope, and are amazed to discover that there are real psychological approaches that can help. The amount of support and compassion that is created at these events are heart-warming. Suddenly there is some hope when hours before things seemed bleak.
In facilitating these events, it is not uncommon for memories of my own struggles to come to mind. We are all human and are in this life together. I am fortunate to teach these counseling skills on a daily basis. In the process, I continue to improve myself.
Ongoing Treatment
Mental Health treatment is ongoing. It is learning a set of skills to use in your daily life and treat the little bumps before they turn into mountains. It is important to remember that we are emotional beings and we are only as strong as our emotional make-up. How can we give love to the people we care about when we are overwhelmed, stressed out, and worried about a horrible future with impending doom? Learning the tools to keep ourselves in balance should be taught in grade school.
What is underneath your anger? Underneath anger is hurt feelings. In learning how to address this hurt, it could bring you the peace you crave, reduce violence in school, in families, and at the workplace. All our facility can do is present the Psychological tools that help you work through the emotions that disrupt your wellbeing with compassion and expertise.
Hope is There
Whether you attend a once a month training, take part in individual therapy, or attend one of our intensive programs, with knowledge, compassion, and effort a different life awaits you.
Thank you for reading this article. My intention is to continually pass on knowledge in hopes that your clients and practice will thrive.
