Dig In… This Thing Ain’t Over Yet
Dig in, it is rumored that the restrictions from the COVID-19 Virus will be going on for 18-months. Because of this, it is best to adapt and change with the times.
There is a great book named, “Who Moved My Cheese?” by Spencer Johnson that may be a great guide for us to follow. In the book, there are two rats and two little people who live in a maze. The maze at first is filled with cheese and all four are very happy, but as the cheese starts to disappear, then what? Our cheese, or the way that life used to be, has disappeared, then what?
In the book, with the remaining cheese moldy and in short supply, the rats were off to look for a new supply of cheese. The little people didn’t. No wonder rats survive, as for people we have attachments to how things used to be. The people that adapt to change have the best odds for survival. And yes, this applies to all factions of life, especially business. The small business restaurants that have established outside seating, the therapists that are now engaged in virtual sessions, and look at Door Dash and Zoom, their businesses are thriving. This is not to mention Amazon, who have only streamlined their already successful business model.
And what about you? How have you adapted? Or have you? Many people are closer to friends and family by the use of Zoom meetings. More hiking is going on because the overeating can be only tolerated to a point.
It just struck me that Dentists are seeing a multitude of clients who have been gnashing on their teeth and splitting them. This is a sign that inner stress is not being dealt with. So how have you dealt with your stress?
It is interesting as a person in recovery to treat people who have a habit of turning to substances to heal. Do they really heal, or numb you to the process you are going through? According to Spiritual Psychology, our problems are the curriculum of life and when we process through them, we grow at the level of the soul. In numbing to this process, are we really doing ourselves justice?
It is interesting to move from a maze searching for new cheese, because our old cheese isn’t there, to realize that the lack of cheese may be a spiritual opportunity to grow in consciousness.
Is this worldwide pandemic all bad? Or the lack of cheese bad? Nothing is all bad because, according to the philosophy of Ying Yang, there is some dark in the good and some light in the dark. How can you then look at the benefits of a time without the normal cheese and discover some new kick-ass cheese?
Still, this is your choice. Do you sit in hope that the old cheese will appear, or venture out into the maze of life? It takes courage to try something different, especially if you don’t view yourself as a self-starter and only want others to support you. You actually might surprise yourself on how strong and courageous you really are. It takes faith to step into the unknown and do things differently, and not business as usual. Business, as usual, can bog you down and it isn’t as fun – that’s for sure.
Will you break away from the familiar and venture into the new maze of life?
